- Based on the 500SR Voom
- Powered by a 499cc inline-four engine
- To be sold in select markets only
CFMoto 500SR has surfaced through type-approval documents filed in China, hinting at another addition to the brand’s growing SR family. The new model is based on the retro-styled CFMoto 500SR Voom but adopts a more contemporary, full-fledged supersport styling.
The 500SR shares its mechanicals with the 500SR Voom. It uses the same tubular steel frame and the 499cc inline-four engine that produces 78bhp at 12,500rpm and 49Nm at 10,000rpm. Other bits that are identical to the Voom include 41mm adjustable USD forks, rear monoshock, same swingarm, and the same 1,395mm wheelbase. The dual under-seat exhausts from the Voom appear to have been retained as well.

While the mechanicals are unchanged, the design is very different. The 500SR drops the retro styling of the Voom and instead follows the design language seen on the CFMoto 675 SR-R. It boasts angular headlights with eyebrow-style DRLs, layered and contoured fairing, and fairing-mounted mirrors instead of bar-end units. The SR is also lighter than the Voom. According to the type-approval filings, the 500SR has a kerb weight of 187kg, making it 7kg lighter than the 500SR Voom.
The 500SR was first seen as a prototype in 2023 alongside the 675 SR-R. While the 675 went into production earlier, the 500SR appears to have been delayed. CFMoto hasn’t confirmed a production timeline yet. However, the motorcycle is expected to be offered in markets where the Voom is currently sold, including China and Australia.
