-Plans to appoint new distributor
-Might restart innings with the 450MT
-New 675 SR-R may also be considered
Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, CFMoto is considering re-entering the Indian market in 2025. The company is in talks with a new distributor in India and plans are to set up a comprehensive sales and service network.
CFMoto entered the burgeoning Indian two-wheeler market a few years ago with bikes like the 300NK and the 650GT. Back then, the bikes were par for the course but what hurt CFMoto’s plans was a weak sales and service network, coupled with the fact that they were an unknown brand. That is expected to change with their new innings.
Word is that the company plans to re-enter with the 450MT adventure motorcycle. This bike has been giving nightmares to the bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan with its competitive pricing in European markets. The 450MT has a 449.5cc, parallel-twin engine, 220mm ground clearance, adjustable KYB suspension, traction control, tubeless wire-spoke wheels and more. If CFMoto manages to price the bike competitively in India, as it has in other markets, the 450MT could spearhead the re-entry with success.
Besides the CFMoto 450MT, the company may also bring the new 657cc range of bikes like the 675 SR-R.
All said, CFMoto’s new chapter in India will depend on how well the company establishes itself as a maker of motorcycles that are reliable, easy on the pocket to run and maintain as well as have an accessible network.
