BMW Motorrad has dropped a teaser of its upcoming concept sportsbike across its social media platforms, including YouTube. Titled ‘The Quest for the Speed of Light’, the teaser features the silhouette of the motorcycle, hinting at a sleek and aggressive design.
While the outline bears some resemblance to the S1000RR, there are several design elements that set it apart. The fuel tank appears noticeably flatter on top, fairing sports new panel designs, and the tail section looks distinct from the brand’s flagship superbike.
This could be a new top-spec variant of the S1000RR or possibly an all-new track-only machine. If it’s the latter, expect extensive use of carbon fibre, along with high-end suspension and braking hardware.
The global unveil is scheduled for 23 May. A launch in India is likely to follow towards the end of the year, although its pricing is expected to place it well out of reach for most buyers.
