- F 450 GS production commences at the TVS plant
- Price could be announced at India Bike Week 2025
- Unofficial bookings already open
BMW Motorrad recently commenced the production of its much-awaited F 450 GS at TVS’ Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. This marked the surpassing of the 200,000-unit production milestone under the strategic partnership of TVS and BMW Motorrad. Both brands joined hands in 2013 and have celebrated multiple milestones since then. The launch of the F 450 GS will be a major turning point in this partnership since it marks the inception of the first-ever multi-cylinder, premium offering co-developed by the brands.
As we told you recently, the BMW F 450 GS is expected to be launched at the India Bike Week 2025 motorcycling event in December. It will take place on 19 and 20 December and the German brand will most likely utilise the incredible popularity and footfall of this event to grab maximum eyeballs. Select BMW Motorrad dealers across India have even started taking unofficial bookings for the F 450 GS, with the refundable token amount varying between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 50,000, depending on the dealership.

The BMW F 450 GS has already made its first global debut at the EICMA 2025 earlier this month. The F 450 GS will be offered in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. Although most of its fundamental bits will be identical, these variants differ in terms of features and electronics rider aids. Powering the motorcycle will be a newly developed 420cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine paired with either a six-speed manual or semi-automatic gearbox. The motor makes 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm.
We hope BMW launches the F 450 GS at an aggressive price tag. A Rs. 4.50 lakh introductory pricing would do wonders for BMW. Anything higher would be a difficult sell in the highly price-sensitive Indian two-wheeler market.
