BMW recently launched the production-spec F 450 GS for the European market at EICMA 2025. The India launch is yet to take place, and we believe the BMW F 450 GS will likely be launched at the India Bike Week 2025. In fact, BMW dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings with a token amount of Rs. 50,000.

The F 450 GS will be offered in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. Although most of its fundamental bits will be identical, these variants differ in terms of features and electronics rider aids. The Basic trim gets three ride modes: Rain, Road, and Enduro, while the other variants get an additional Enduro Pro mode. Then, the bi-directional quickshifter is standard on the other trim and an optional extra on the Basic variant.

Other features include a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, LED lighting, heated grips, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Meanwhile, electronic rider aids include cornering ABS, traction control, and dynamic brake control. The top-spec GS Trophy variant also gets adjustable suspension, Easy Ride Clutch, and optional tubeless spoke wheels.

Powering the motorcycle will be a newly developed 420cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine paired with either a six-speed manual or semi-automatic gearbox. The engine features a unique 135-degree firing order, which, BMW claims, will lend it a unique character. The motor makes 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm.
We hope BMW launches the F 450 GS at an aggressive price tag. With the KTM 390 Adventure priced at Rs. 3.95 lakh, we expect the GS to receive a sub-Rs. 5 lakh price tag. This should be a decent premium to pay for the additional cylinder and the BMW badge. In fact, a Rs. 4.50 lakh introductory pricing would do wonders for BMW. Anything higher would be a difficult sell in the highly price-sensitive Indian two-wheeler market.
