The Bajaj Discover 110 is the newest player into the commuter motorcycle arena and sits between the Platina and Discover 125 in Bajaj’s line-up. While there are other 110cc motorcycles in the market, it’s direct rivals are the Hero Splendor iSmart 110, Honda Dream Neo and TVS Victor. Here is the comparison between the Discover 110 and its rivals.

Design

All bikes in this competition check sport a conservative commuter design language. They get a long seat, upright riding position and skinny tyres. Interestingly, all the manufacturers have given the bikes blacked-out components, alloy wheels and trendy graphics to give them a modern appeal. The bikes are also equipped with similar semi-digital instrument clusters that incorporate an analogue tachometer with a small digital display that shows speed, fuel gauge odometer and trip meter.

The Discover 110 shares its styling with its elder sibling, the Discover 125. It gets LED DRLs integrated in the headlamp unit. The Dream Neo looks similar to the Dream Yuga apart from a basic looking tail section and different graphics. TVS has gone for a bit of twist by styling the bike sharper than the competition and even launched ‘Premium Edition’ model recently with new colour schemes. Hero MotoCorp has stuck to a conservative design approach for the Splendor iSmart 110 although the motorcycle looks more refreshed as compared to the standard Splendor.

Features 

The Discover 110 only comes in one variant that uses drum brakes on both ends. It gets an 8-litre fuel tank although the fuel efficiency figures are unknown. The Dream Neo also gets an 8-litre fuel tank capacity, with Honda claiming an efficiency of 74kpl. It is available in two variants, wherein the base version gets a button start while the other version gets button start and a carrier.

The TVS Victor is the only bike in this list which offers a disc brake as an option. It also gets a drum brake version along with the ‘Premium Edition’ model. It gets an 8-litre fuel tank with a claimed fuel efficiency of 72kmpl. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 gets a comparatively larger 8.5 litre fuel tank and 75kmpl claimed efficiency. The bike is offered in a single drum brake variant and comes with the i3s idle start-stop system that helps in saving fuel in stop-go traffic.

Engine

The Bajaj Discover is powered by a powered by a 115cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that produces 8.5bhp and 9.81Nm of torque. It is the torquiest motorcycle in its class. The Dream Neo derives power from a 110cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 8.25bhp and 8.63Nm of torque.

Powering the Victor is an 110cc single-cylinder engine, which delivers 9.46bhp and 9.40Nm of torque. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 gets a 110cc engine that produces 9.30bhp and 9Nm of torque. All the bikes use a four-speed gearbox to transfer power to the real wheels.

Pricing

The Bajaj Discover 110 retails at a price of Rs 50,496 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The Honda Dream Neo’s pricing starts at Rs 51,205 while the TVS Victor’s price starts at Rs 52,862. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 gets a Rs 53,108 price tag.
