- India launch expected soon
- Expected to cost Rs 20,000 less than RS457
- Powered by a 457cc, parallel-twin engine
The launch of the Aprilia Tuono 457 is just around the corner. The street naked bike is based on the Aprilia RS 457 and speculation is that it’ll be priced around Rs. 3.99 lakh, ex-showroom. That makes it about Rs. 20,000 cheaper than its fully-faired sibling.
The Tuono 457 distinguishes itself from the RS 457 in terms of styling and the riding position. The Tuono has a bug faced headlight cluster, a beefy fuel tank and a sleek tail section. Being a naked, the bike showcases a lot more of the engine and aluminium frame in comparison to the RS 457.
Even the riding position is different, with a relatively more upright rider’s triangle because of the single-piece handlebar that is placed at a higher position than the clip-on handlebars on the RS.
The Tuono 457 is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It develops 46.9bhp and 43.5Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and might come with an optional quickshifter.
As for the chassis, the frame is suspended by a preload adjustable USD fork and monoshock. Meanwhile, braking is taken care of by a disc brake at the front and rear.
The Tuono 457 has a good set of features as well. There are all-LED lights, traction control, ride modes, switchable ABS and a colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Once launched the bike will go up against the Yamaha MT-03, BMW G 310 R and the KTM 390 Duke.
