5 things our review revealed about the Ducati SuperSport S

We had a working weekend last week, but we aren’t complaining. Because we got to spend some time with Ducati’s latest offering, the Supersport S. Even though it was a short ride, we quite liked that brawny Italian. Here are five aspects of the Ducati Supersport S that most caught our attention.

Looks gorgeous

Ducati bikes are known for their design and they have the ability to bring traffic to a standstill. It’s the same story with the new Supersport S. The Panigale design inspiration has done wonders to this motorcycle. Plus, the neatly designed LED DRL makes the bike look aggressive and sharp. The large fairing has deep creases that accentuates the overall design. The tail section with the rear seat cowl and LED tail light also manages to get people’s attention

Electronics

It has plenty of it. An eight-level traction control system, Bosch ABS, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) with both, up and down shifts, are seen on this Ducati. Then there’s the detailed LCD instrumentation that lays out information in an easy to read manner. It also sports Bluetooth function that be hooked to a music player and take care of incoming calls and messages.

Easy to ride

Thanks to its briliant ergonomics, the Supersport S is a breeze to ride in everyday life. The raised handlebar and low-set pegs are aids to a relaxed riding experience. And that was the whole idea about this Ducati - to make a motorcycle that can be ridden to work every single day.

Versatile

Versatility – that word pretty much describes what the Supersport S is all about. It can commute. It has the ability to travel distances, thanks to the 16 litres fuel tank and pannier options and can behave really well in the twisties.

Accessories

There are two models on sale – the standard Supersport and the Supersport S. The former loses out on the Ohlins suspension setup, auto-blipper and rear seat cowl. But Ducati is offering them as add-ons to the standard model. The Italian company is also offering three option packs, Sport, Touring and Urban. The Sport pack gets carbon fibre front mudguard, racing levers, billet aluminium brake oil reservoir caps, LED rear indicators and carbon fibre tank pad. The touring pack gets 44-litre side panniers, heated grips and smoked touring windscreen. The Urban pack comes with an anti-theft alarm system, magnetic tank bag and foot pegs with rubber inserts.
