Hero MotoCorp had teased the arrival of the BS6 model of its fully-faired offering, the Xtreme 200S, a few weeks back. And the recent launch of the Xpulse 200 BS6 hints that the updated 200S might also be just around the corner. In that case, we tell you what to expect from the Xtreme 200S BS6.
Styling
The Xtreme 200S is a fairly new motorcycle and so is its styling. Hence, Hero will certainly keep its fully-faired design unaltered. It sports a sleek and compact headlamp nestled within an angular fairing. The sculpted fuel tank has deep recesses to tuck your knees in while the stubby tail holds an accommodating single piece seat. Despite the aggressive styling, the motorcycle offers comfortable ergonomics.
Features
Given the fact that the Xtreme 200S is already decently equipped with modern features, it is likely to remain unchanged in this department. It gets full-LED headlamp and tail lamp while the fully-digital instrument cluster shows ample of information. Moreover, the display is Bluetooth-enabled and gives access to turn-by-turn navigation.
Engine
While the motorcycle will continue to be powered by the same 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the carbureted fueling system will be replaced by electronic fuel injection. This might result in a slight variation in its power output from the BS4 motor’s 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by a five-speed gearbox.
Cycle parts
Similar to the design and features, the cycle parts of the bike will also be the same. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc brake at both ends assisted by a single-channel ABS. Owing to the BS6-bound revisions, the kerb weight of the bike might be slightly different than the BS4 model’s 149kgs.
Pricing
Coming to the pricing, expect the Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 to demand a premium of around Rs 8,000-10,000 over the BS4 version which was pegged at Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
