Your weekly dose of bike updates: TVS Zest 110 BS6 launch, Jawa Perak deliveries and more!

The two-wheeler industry stayed pretty calm last week as it was deprived of many new launches or significant developments. However, there were still a few updates worth noting, especially for the prospective scooter buyers. In case you missed them, here’s a quick round up of the top five two-wheeler stories from the last week.

TVS Zest 110 BS6 launched

TVS’ 110cc scooter, the Zest 110, received the much-needed BS6 updated last week. Its 110cc, air-cooled engine is now accompanied by fuel-injection and churns out 7.6bhp and 8.8Nm. Besides the revisions in its engine, TVS has kept the Zest unchanged in all other aspects. It is available in two variants – Himalayan High Series and Matte Series and costs Rs 58,460, which is a premium of around Rs 7,000 over its BS4 counterpart.

Vespa 125 and 150 Facelift models launched

Piaggio India updated the Vespa line-up by launching the facelifted models of the VXL 125, SXL 125, VXL 150 and the SXL 150. For BS6 compliance, their engines now come equipped with electronic fuel-injection which helps in releasing lesser toxic gases. Other updates come in the form of a full-LED headlamp, a USB charged and under seat light. While the prices of the 125cc models start at Rs 1.10 lakh, the 150 series starts at Rs 1.22 lakh.

Aprilia Storm 125 BS6 disc variant launched

Piaggio India also introduced the disc brake variant of the Aprilia Storm 125 in India. It has been pegged at Rs 91,321 which makes it around Rs 6,000 more expensive than the drum brake model. In the new BS6 edition, Aprilia also introduced a digital console, as opposed to the fully-analogue setup of the previous model. Notably, the distinctive styling of the scooter has been retained, which incorporates a sporty bodywork, rugged graphics and chunky tyres wrapped around 12-inch wheels.
