Aprilia Pagani 150 cafe racer: Details Explained

Aprilia recently launched the Pagani 150 in China. The motorcycle is built by the Italian manufacturer’s Chinese counterpart Zongshen Piaggio Foshan Motor and is priced at 21,800 Chinese Yuan (approx. Rs 2.35 lakh). Here we bring to you all you need to know about the new Aprilia Pagani 150.

Styling

The Pagani 150 sports a retro cafe racer styling complete with a ribbed seat with rear seat cowl and clip-on handlebars. It also gets a bubble-type headlamp cowl and a half-fairing to complete the look. However, the most unique bit about the Pagani 150’s styling is the scrambler-inspired twin exhaust that are placed alarmingly close to the rider footpegs.

Nevertheless, the Pagani 150 is a faired iteration of the Aprilia CR 150 which in turn is built on the FB Mondial HPS 125; the smaller version of the HPS 300 that was sold in India. Interestingly, FB Mondial also has a faired Pagani 1948 making the Aprilia Pagani 150 a rebadged version of the former.

Engine

Powering the motorcycle is a 150cc, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing around 18bhp of power at 9,750rpm and 14Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Features and cycle parts

The feature list on the Aprilia Pagani 150 is not extensive as it comes with an ABS and single-pod digital instrument cluster as standard. The motorcycle rides USD forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by petal discs at both ends. It offers a low seat height of 785mm and tips the scale at 133kg.

India launch

The Aprilia Pagani 150 is an interesting motorcycle and would be the only cafe racer in its segment if launched in India. However, the Pagani 150, being a China-only model will not make its way to our country anytime soon. Nevertheless, Aprilia is expected to launch its first small capacity motorcycle in the country - the GPR 150, sometime next year.
