Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT India launch: What to expect?

Suzuki Motorcycle India has confirmed that it will soon launch the BS6-compliant version of its middleweight adventure tourer, the V-Strom 650 XT. Here we list all the features, specifications and the price tag that you can expect to see on the upcoming Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT BS6.

Design

The teaser image on the company’s India website confirms that the BS6 model will retain the design of the BS4 motorcycle. Thus, the V-Strom 650 XT BS6 will continue to feature semi-fairing design, adjustable windscreen, vertically-stacked twin-pod headlight, semi-digital instrument cluster, LED taillight and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.

While the BS6 V-Strom 650 XT will retain the design of its predecessor, we could see a styling revision when the next-generation model arrives.

Colour options

The colour options, similar to the BS4 motorcycle, should include Champion Yellow and Pearl White Glacier paint. 

Cycle parts

The hardware will be carried forward from the BS4 model, and the V-Strom 650 XT will continue to use 43mm telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, twin discs (310mm) at the front, single rotor (260mm) at the back and 19-inch front/17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels.

Engine

The mechanical specifications for the motorcycle are yet to be revealed, although we do not expect to see a drastic change in the power and torque output numbers. Thus, the BS6-compliant model will continue to use a 645cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. The engine was tuned to produced 71bhp and 62Nm in BS4 guise. The twin-cylinder engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.

Price

The V-Strom 650 XT BS6 will most likely demand a price premium over the BS4 motorcycle. The old version, for reference, was sold for Rs 7,46,577 (ex-showroom Delhi).
