2020 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy: What else can you buy?

Harley-Davidson recently launched the 2020 Fat Boy in India with a starting price of Rs 18.25 lakh for the Milwaukee 107 model. If you are looking to buy a motorcycle in that price range, there are four options from four different segments to choose from. Here is what the grid looks like.  2020 Triumph Rocket 3

In a slightly more aggressive power cruiser avatar, as compared to the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, there is legendary Triumph Rocket 3. The motorcycle boasts of being powered by the largest production inline-three cylinder engine. This mammoth of a 2500cc motor churns out 165bhp and 221Nm of torque. And to put a leash on all that power, the Rocket 3 offers traction control, cornering ABS, hill-hold control and four riding modes- Rain, Road, Sport, and a custom Rider mode. Triumph has priced the Rocket 3 at Rs 18 lakh.

BMW R 1250 GS Adventure

In the off-road-focused variety, you have the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure; which is the German manufacturer’s best selling motorcycle globally. It is offered at Rs 18.25 lakh for the standard model and Rs 21.95 lakh for the Pro variant. Apart from electronic wizardry, the two variants are essentially the same. The BMW R 1250 GSA is powered by a 1,254cc, boxer-twin motor that puts out 132bhp and 143Nm of torque. It offers hill-start control, traction control and two riding modes – Road and Rain as standard. Moreover, you also get a 6.5-inch TFT colour screen and all-LED lighting as part of the package.

BMW S1000RR

Another flagship motorcycle from BMW in the supersports category is the S1000RR available at Rs 18.5 lakh for the standard version. It is also available in Pro (Rs 20.95 lakh) and Pro M Sport (Rs 22.95 lakh) variants which get more electronic aids and top-spec components. The BMW S1000RR uses a 999cc, inline-four-cylinder motor that produces 204bhp and 113Nm of torque. In terms of features, the motorcycle is loaded with a full-colour TFT console along with a dynamic traction control system, hill-start assist, adjustable engine braking, six-axis IMU, wheelie control, launch control, and ABS.

Aprilia Tuono V4 1100

The list also includes a litre-class bike in a streetfighter avatar- the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100. The motorcycle comes powered by a 1,077cc, V4 engine that is capable of producing 173bhp and 121Nm of torque. Aprilia has equipped the Tuono V4 1100 with electronic aids like traction control, wheelie control, launch control, and ride modes. It comes in two versions- RR and Factory which are priced at Rs 20 lakh and Rs 21.36 lakh each.
