Ahead of the official unveil of the 2020 Honda CBR250RR, details of the motorcycle have surfaced online. The quarter-litre sportsbike reportedly makes more power over the previous version while it also gets a few electronic upgrades.

The existing model of the CBR250RR is powered by a 249cc, parallel-twin, DOHC, liquid-cooled motor which produces 37.5bhp of power. Meanwhile, the 2020 model comprises of revised pistons which have resulted in a hike of around 3bhp. Also, the six-speed gearbox of the motorcycle has been updated with a slipper clutch while a bi-directional quick shifter will also be available as an option. Notably, the latter is an uncommon feature in a motorcycle of this segment.

Honda has kept the motorcycle unchanged in all other aspects. The 2020 CBR250RR continues to boast of a sharp and edgy styling with a pointed nose fairing, angular main fairing with air vents, sculpted fuel tank, dual exhaust and a svelte rear section with a raked design. The motorcycle will come in a new white colour option with red frame and golden alloy wheels. Riding on 17-inch wheels, this supersport is also equipped with premium hardware including upside down forks, monoshock and petal discs at both ends.

The 2020 Honda CBR250RR is expected to be launched in Japan in July this year. The direct competition of the bike will be the yet-to-be-launched Kawasaki ZX25R which runs an in-line four and makes more power. The CBR250RR is unlikely to enter in the price-conscious Indian market as of now owing to its premium price tag.
