2020 Suzuki Hayabusa: What else can you buy?

Following the global unveil of the 2020 Hayabusa in August, Suzuki has now launched the iconic sportsbike in India. While the motorcycle remains unchanged in terms of design and engine, it gets two new paint schemes along with tweaked brake calipers. The 2020 edition of the Hayabusa has been pegged at Rs 13.74 lakhs and we shed some light on the alternatives you can consider around the similar price range.

Suzuki Hayabusa Honda Africa Twin

Honda Africa Twin

The Africa Twin is Honda’s flagship adventure touring motorcycle. It boasts of all the traits required for conquering challenging terrain while munching miles without a hiccup. The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels are shod with dual-sport tyres and are suspended by long travel suspension setup. Powered by a 998cc, parallel-twin motor, the Africa Twin is the only ADV which offers the convenience of automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The motorcycle is priced at Rs 13.50 lakhs.

While the V-Strom 1000 is also an adventure touring motorcycle, it is more road-biased, incorporating alloy wheels which are shod with slick tyres. Powering the bike is a 1,037cc, V-twin engine which produces 99bhp and 103Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suzuki also has a more adventure-focused XT variant in its portfolio which is not yet available in India. The standard model carries a sticker price of Rs 13.45 lakhs.

Suzuki Hayabusa Harley-Davidson Low Rider

Harley-Davidson Low Rider

For those who desire to ply on a full-size cruiser like a boss, Harley-Davidson has the Low Rider in its Softail range. The long profile, low-slung stance of the motorcycle is accentuated by the chrome treatment given to most of its components. Furthermore, its capabilities are not just skin deep as the Low Rider is propelled by a humungous 1746cc motor which pumps out a staggering 149Nm of torque at 3000rpm. Harley-Davidson retails the Low Rider in India at Rs 13.59 lakhs.

Suzuki Hayabusa Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

If outright performance is your top priority, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a litre-class sportsbike built to rip the racetracks apart. Propelling the motorcycle is a 998cc, in-line four cylinder motor capable of producing 207.2bhp and 114Nm. For taming this mad power, Kawasaki has equipped the bike with a host of electronic aids including traction control, cornering ABS, engine brake control and three riding modes. Pegged at Rs 13.99 lakhs, the Ninja ZX-10R is one of the most affordable litre-class bikes you can buy in India.
