It was one of those busy yet exciting weeks when we encounter multiple launches. While Honda and Jawa unleashed their latest offerings, the electric space also welcomed a performance-oriented motorcycle from Ultraviolette. There were more such attention-grabbing stories in the last week and bring you the top five of them.

Jawa added a third offering to its line-up in the form of the Perak. Priced at Rs 1.94 lakhs, the Perak is the most affordable bobber-styled motorcycle one can buy in India. Boasting of an elegant vintage-inspired design, the motorcycle is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled motor which churns out 30bhp and 31Nm. In case you’re planning to buy it, online bookings for the Perak will commence from 1 January 2020 while deliveries will begin from 2 April, in batches.

BS-VI Honda SP 125 launched

Honda2Wheelers India launched its second BS-VI-compliant two-wheeler, the SP 125, which starts at Rs 72,900. While the motorcycle is based on the existing CB Shine SP, it gets a fresh styling, updated list of features and a fuel-injected motor which is claimed to deliver better performance and mileage. The motorcycle will be available in two variants including standard with drum brakes and a front disc brake trim. Bookings for the BS-VI SP 125 have already begun while deliveries will kickstart this week.

Jawa Perak Ultraviolette F77

Ultraviolette F77 electric motorcycle launched

Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bangalore-based startup, has launched its first electric motorcycle, the F77. As opposed to the existing electric two-wheelers in India which are commuter-centric, the F77 is a performance machine with 25kW BLDC motor and three lithium-ion batteries. It is claimed to achieve a top speed of 140kmph while the battery range is stated to be 130-150km. What’s more, the company also affirms that it goes from 0 to 60kmph in 2.9 seconds! Well, there’s still a long time for us to witness the F77 ply on our roads as the deliveries for the e-bike will begin in the third quarter of 2020. However, online pre-bookings for the bike have commenced and it will be priced heftily between Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 3.25 lakhs.
