Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and Tiger GT to be unveiled in December

The upcoming Triumph Tiger 900 has been teased in a video released by the manufacturer. The teaser video only gives out glimpses of the new Tiger’s design. It shows the unibrow-like LED DRL, auxiliary lamps, tall windscreen, upswept exhaust and a luggage rack at the rear. 

Now apart from what the video reveals, we know quite a bit of how the bike looks like, thanks to previous spy images. The Tiger 900 is sleeker than the Tiger 800 and sports sharper edges on its bodywork.  It also gets a redesigned frame and longer-travel suspension sourced from Showa instead of WP. The Tiger 900 is likely to come powered by an 887cc, inline-three cylinder engine that churns out over 100bhp. Going by the previous spy images we also know that the bike will sport an updated full-colour TFT screen along with a refreshed electronics suite.  

Furthermore, the video also reveals that the Tiger 900 range will consist of an off-road focused Tiger 900 Rally version and long-distance touring Tiger 900 GT variant.  Triumph has also announced through the teaser that the new Tiger 900 range will be unveiled on 3 December.  It will replace the Tiger 800 range and sit below the bigger Tiger 1200. We can expect the motorcycle to make its way to India by the latter half of 2020. When it does, it will compete against the Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW F850 GS and F750 GS.
