Your weekly dose of bike updates: Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon update, New Indian Challenger and more!

With the EICMA motor show all set to commence this week, the game of teasers and speculations have begun in full swing. As most of the manufacturers are set to participate in the largest two-wheeler exhibition, the last week was majorly about the same. Apart from that, Bajaj gave a minor styling update to its Pulsar 150 model. With more such stories, the last week turned out to be an interesting one and here are the top five updates you shouldn’t miss.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon receives minor update

Bajaj has updated its one of the most popular models in India, the Pulsar 150 Neon. Similar to the standard variant, the Neon edition now gets tank extensions which adds to the overall styling of the motorcycle. Moreover, it will also help the Pulsar 150 Neon look different from its newly-launched 125cc sibling, which sports an identical styling. Interestingly, Bajaj has kept the pricing of the motorcycle unchanged as it continues to retail at Rs 75,200.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 KTM 1290 Super Duke

KTM’s expected models at EICMA

We had reported earlier that KTM will be unveiling the much-awaited 390 Adventure at this year’s EICMA which will be followed by its India launch later. Now, taking into account all the spy shots and rumours doing rounds over the internet, the Austrian bike maker is also expected to unveil the next-gen 390 Duke and its fully-faired sibling, the RC 390. The grid will also be joined by KTM’s flagship naked, the 1290 Super Duke which has been confirmed through an array of teasers.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield could showcase new Classic 350 and Thunderbird X at EICMA

Besides KTM, we have also played the guessing game regarding the EICMA-bound models by Royal Enfield. Although the company hasn’t given any hint in this regard yet, our analysis points towards the imminent unveiling of the 2020 Classic (350 and 500) and Thunderbird X models. Lately, these motorcycles have been spied testing numerous times on the Indian roads. We might also witness one or more custom models based on RE’s 650cc, parallel-twin platform. All of this is a speculation as of now. In order to find out what the Chennai-based bike maker has for us in store, we’ll have to wait for the EICMA show to begin on 5 November.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Indian Challenger

Indian Challenger unveiled

Indian Motorcycle has unveiled its most powerful motorcycle till date, the Challenger. Powered by the newly developed ‘Powerplus’ motor which is a 1769cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin unit, the Challenger pumps out 121.8bhp of power and a staggering 173Nm of peak torque. This gigantic mill nestles amidst a bold, bagger-styled bodywork with large batwing fairing and roomy panniers. It has been introduced in three variants including standard, Dark Horse and Limited. These trims get different paint schemes while the Dark Horse and Limited also get traction control, drag torque control system and a six-axis IMU. The Challenger is expected to come to the Indian shores sometime next year.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Suzuki V-Strom

Next-gen Suzuki V-Strom 1000 revealed in teaser

In the second pre-EICMA teaser, Suzuki has clearly revealed the next-generation model of its adventure tourer, V-Strom 1000. As it is evident in the video, the motorcycle is a heavily updated version in terms of styling. It takes inspiration from Suzuki’s iconic DR Big AVD and now gets a square-shaped headlamp, taller windscreen, re-designed knuckle guards and majorly restyled body panels, which follow a more compact and minimalistic design theme. Notably, the semi-digital instrument cluster has also made way for the a fully-digital console. Besides featuring a Euro 5-compliant motor, what other hardware changes it has received (if at all) remains unknown. 5 November is the day to find it all out.
