MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR: What else can you buy?

MV Agusta recently launched the Dragster 800 RR naked street bike in India. While the motorcycle shares its 800cc, inline-triple motor with the Brutale 800, it gets a bunch of styling elements which make it look distinctive. The motorcycle has been pegged at Rs 18.73 lakhs, and we tell you the similarly-priced alternatives which are worth considering.

Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR

The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR is the naked sibling of the RSV4 sportsbike. While it is on par with the Dragster 800 in terms of electronics, the Tuono has an upper hand in the performance department. The 1077cc, V4 motor produces 175bhp and 121Nm, which is 39bhp and 42Nm more than the Dragster. In spite of that, the Tuono V4 1100 is more affordable at Rs 18.20 lakhs.

BMW R 1250 GS Adventure

With a price tag similar to the Aprilia Tuono, the adventure-junkies can opt for BMW’s full-size ADV, the R 1250 GS Adventure. The motorcycle features all the electronic aids and components needed in a hardcore adventure bike while the 1,254cc motor with intelligent variable valve timing bestows it with the needed performance. While the Pro version of the bike goes up to Rs 21.95 lakhs, the standard variant is cheaper at Rs 18.25 lakhs.

MV Agusta Turismo Veloce

For those who tour a lot on their motorcycles but cannot compromise on styling, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce is one gorgeous touring machine. It takes design inspiration from its fully-faired supersport siblings and features smooth flowing lines all over its body work. Powering the motorcycle is the same 798cc, inline-triple motor which does duty on the Dragster. However, different tuning has resulted in a drop in performance; 108bhp and 80Nm. In terms of pricing, the Turismo Veloce demands a premium of Rs 26,000 over its Dragster sibling.

BMW S 1000 RR

If the power figures of the aforementioned bikes aren’t enough for you, the BMW S 1000 RR is all about outright performance. Comprehensively updated for 2019, the litre-class sportsbike belts out 204bhp and 113Nm from its heavily reworked 999cc, in-line four motor. And to keep that power in check, BMW has crammed it with loads of electronics. What makes the bike even more desirable is its pricing of Rs 18.50 lakhs (standard) which is slightly lesser than the Dragster.

Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

Last but not the least, if a chrome-laden, burly cruiser floats your boat, the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is the bike to go for. The low-slung profile, fat tyres and thumping exhaust note lend it a massive road presence while the 1,745cc, Milwaukee-Eight motor pumps out a healthy torque of 144Nm. Carrying a price tag of Rs 18.34 lakhs, the Fat Boy is available in as many as seven colour options.
