A new model of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V was spotted testing recently. The test mule was sighted in Hosur, Tamil Nadu where TVS’ manufacturing facility is situated. Only a single picture of the updated motorcycle has emerged revealing it to be equipped with a split-LED headlamp setup. While the overall design of the headlamp remains closely similar to the current model, it consists of separate reflectors for low beam and high beam. 

Owing to the grainy image quality of the spy shot, it is difficult to fetch any further details of the new model. Besides the new headlamp setup, the motorcycle could get subtle design changes along with a fresh set of paint schemes. TVS might also equip the bike with new features such as a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, something that is gaining popularity by the day. 

The biggest change which the new RTR 200 4V will receive is a BS-VI compliant motor. Since the company already has a fuel-injected variant of the motorcycle, TVS might have to make minor tweaks to make the existing powerplant compliant to the upcoming emission norms. The 197.75cc, oil-cooled, fuel-injected motor churns out 20.4bhp of power and 18.1Nm of peak torque. As for the carburetor variant, the company is likely to discontinue this model once the new emission norms kick in on 1 April 2020.

The fuel-injected variant of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is priced at Rs 1,10,388 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Notably, TVS hasn’t yet introduced ABS in the FI trim but it is offered in the carbureted variant. However, the company will bring the ABS in the BS VI compliant model. Considering the upgrades it is likely to receive, the new Apache RTR 200 4V will carry a significant hike in price over the existing model.
