Honda patents two-in-one motorcycle riding technology

-Patents filed for a unique technology

-Rider can switch between two riding positions

-Technology likely to be introduced as concept by 2020

Honda has filed patents for a unique and interesting technology; a motorcycle which offers two riding positions!

The patents display the previous generation CBR1000RR Fireblade super sport in with its aggressive riding position and another in a more upright position, much like a sports tourer.Well, according to the patents, the clip-on handlebars are height-adjustable that is expected to be motorised and operated via a button.

There also is the electronically height-adjustable windscreen. This isn’t a totally new technology, but it will be a first for any super sport motorcycle yet. Furthermore, unlike most electronically adjustable windscreens, Honda’s technology moves the unit forward and upwards for a touring-friendly position.

While there isn’t much detail about which motorcycle the technology will debut on, it will surely be a super sport. Maybe even as a variant of the next-gen Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. If we’re being optimistic, Honda is likely to introduce the variable motorcycle riding position technology in the form of a concept sometime around 2020.
