2019 KTM 390 Adventure spotted testing again

- Features a taller windscreen

- Key fob is placed below the instrument cluster

- Fuel tank is expected to get more capacity than the 390 Duke

KTM continues to test its upcoming adventure touring model – the 2019 390 Adventure in India. The motorcycle has been spotted for the fourth time now near Bajaj’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This time round, the spy images reveal a few more details about the motorcycle.

Starting up front, the spied mule features a taller windscreen as compared to the unit spotted on previous test mules. This could be an improvisation in design or the company might offer it as an optional accessory. Also, unlike the 390 Duke, the key fob sits below the instrument cluster instead of near the tank. Talking about the fuel tank, it appears to be extended much below the rider’s seat which signifies this unit might have more capacity than the 390 Duke for a longer range. The 390 Adventure boasts of a wider and longer seat as compared to its street bike sibling which will make it more comfortable. Meanwhile, the rear grab rail is also longer which is accompanied by a luggage rack and saddle stays.

The spy images of the KTM 390 Adventure also reveal that it rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels which are shod with dual purpose tyres. KTM is expected to launch an off-road version as well, which will incorporate spoke wheels. As for the braking set up, it is likely to be similar to the 390 Duke which gets dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode; it disengages ABS for the rear wheel only. Powering the motorcycle will be same 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit which does duty on the 390 Duke. However, it will perhaps be re-tuned to suit the purpose of the 390 Adventure.

The KTM 390 Adventure is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year. Looking at its styling and purpose, it will go up against the Kawasaki Versys X-300 and the BMW G310GS.
