Royal Enfield to launch two new Bullet Trials scramblers tomorrow

- Will sport an upswept exhaust and dual-purpose tyres

- Expected to be priced at Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000 over the top-spec Bullet variant

- Will be offered in 350cc and 500cc variants

Royal Enfield is all set to launch the two new scrambler motorcycles in India tomorrow. Based on the Bullet, these scrambler models will be called Bullet Trials 350 and the Bullet Trials 500. The company had recently released a teaser video of the motorcycle being ridden through a stream thus showcasing its off-road capabilities.

Both motorcycles will feature design cues that are distinctly scrambler-oriented including a handlebar brace, fork gaiters, protective housing for the headlamp, a luggage rack instead of the pillion seat and an upswept exhaust. Other bits include a short front chrome fender followed by a raised rear fender with additional suspension travel. In terms of paint livery, the Bullet Trials 350 will sport a red coloured chassis while the more powerful Bullet Trials 500 will come with a green painted chassis. Besides that, both motorcycles will share livery similar to the company’s Classic series. However, to provide exclusivity to the motorcycle, Royal Enfield will be adorning the fuel tank with a 3D ‘Royal Enfield’ logo. The design finishes off with generous amount of chrome for parts like the mirrors, brake pedal and the oval air-box.

For suspension duties, the scrambler motorcycles will be equipped with telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear. Expect the motorcycle to have slightly more ground clearance and suspension travel over the standard Bullet. The motorcycles will ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. Brakes are likely to be the same 280mm disc up front with a two-piston caliper and 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper for the rear. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard equipment.

For firepower, both motorcycles will make use of the same units from the Classic series. While the Bullet Trials 350 will come with the 346cc unit producing 19.8bhp and 28Nm, the Bullet Trials 500 will sport the 499cc mill that registers 26.1bhp and 40.9Nm. While both engines will comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox, expect Royal Enfield to tweak the gearing ratio for better off-road capabilities.

The cost of additional equipment is likely to be reflected in the price tag. So, we expect the two Royal Enfield scrambler motorcycles to carry a premium of Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000 over their respective top-spec Bullet variants.
