Honda to celebrate 50th anniversary of CB750; to unveil CB1000R Tribute

- It will be unveiled at the Roma Motodays show in Italy

- Only a single unit has been built

- It will be given out to a lucky visitor at the show

Honda is all set to unveil the CB1000R Tribute one-off motorcycle at the Roma Motodays show in Italy which will be held from 7 to 10 March. With this model, Honda will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the CB750 Four’s debut – its first four-cylinder motorcycle, which was introduced in 1969.

The Japanese bikemaker has built this model in association with Honda Italy. Only a single unit of the CB1000R Tribute has been built which will be given out to a lucky visitor at the Roma Motodays. Interested people need to buy a ticket to the show and register online on Roma Motodays’ official website to participate in the contest.

There are several aesthetic elements which pay tribute to the 1969 Honda CB750 Four. The headlamp nacelle and fuel tank get a blue paint job with a special logo that sits on the side plate. Moreover, it gets spoke wheels and V-shaped twin exhausts. All of these are the reminiscents of the original CB 750 Four. The leather seats of the standard bike make way for an Alcantara unit on the Tribute model.

Apart from the cosmetic tweaks, the motorcycle remains the same. The 2019 Honda CB1000R is powered by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine which belts out 141.4bhp and 104Nm. It is loaded with electronic aids such as full-colour TFT display, ride-by-wire, traction control and four riding modes. Suspension duties are handled by fully-adjustable inverted front forks and rear monoshock, sourced from Showa. For braking, it gets 310mm twin disc setup up front and 256mm disc at the rear.

In India, the Honda CB1000R+ is priced at Rs 14.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) and it goes up against the Kawasaki Z1000 and the BMW S 1000 R.
