2019 Yamaha MT-09: What else can you buy

Yamaha recently launched the 2019 iteration of the MT-09 in India priced at Rs 10.55 lakhs. While the 2019 bike is essentially the same as the previous version, it now sports a new paint scheme. The MT-09 is a streetfighter, however there are seven different motorcycles that you can consider in a similar price range. Here’s the list-

If a street bike is what you’re looking for, there is the Ducati Scrambler 1100 at Rs 10.91 lakhs. The bike looks like the beefed-up version of the 803cc Scrambler Icon. The Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1079cc, L-twin motor that generates 83.2bhp and 88Nm of torque. Triumph also has a street bike however with a slightly more classic appeal in the form of the Bonneville T120. The bike sports a great deal of chrome and pays tribute to Triumph’s racing motorcycles from the late 60s. It costs Rs 10.08 lakhs and is powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 78.9bhp and 105Nm of torque.

You can also have the Bonneville Bobber at Rs 10.38 lakhs. Sporting a hardtail look like the Bobber gets a ‘floating’ single-seat and is powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin motor similar to the T120. Nevertheless, the Bobber’s engine is retuned and produces 76bhp and 106Nm of torque. There are two more cruisers motorcycles that you can opt for; the Indian Scout Sixty and Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom. The Scout Sixty’s styling is reminiscent of Indian Motorcycle’s family design language.

The bike gets bulbous front and rear fenders and flowing lines on the fuel tank. It is powered by a 999cc, V-twin motor that puts out 88.8Nm of torque. The Indian Scout Sixty is priced at Rs 10.99 lakhs. The 1200 Custom offers a laidback riding position and loads of chrome to complete its American-cruiser look. The bike is powered by a 1202cc, V-twin that produces 67.7bhp and 96Nm of torque. It costs Rs 10.75 lakhs.

Kawasaki offers two motorcycles, each with completely different purposes. There is the Ninja ZX-6R retailing at Rs 10.49 lakhs. The fully-faired motorcycle uses a 636cc, inline-four cylinder engine that produces 126bhp and 70.8Nm. Or, you could have the Versys 1000 that has a price tag of Rs 10.69 lakhs. The adventure-tourer was recently given a complete overhaul for 2019. The bike is powered by a 1043cc, inline-four cylinder engine that puts out 118.3bhp and 102Nm of torque.
