2019 Triumph Street Scrambler- What else can you buy

Triumph launched the 2019 Street Scrambler in India at Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India). If you are looking for bikes in a similar price range, the market offers five motorcycles that you can consider. Here’s what the grid looks like-

The Triumph Street Scrambler is a scrambler-styled motorcycle based on the Bonneville T100, a modern-classic. Now, the T100 is an exact replica of Triumph’s bikes from the 70s. It gets oodles of chrome, a round headlamp and round, chrome mirrors along with retro-styled twin exhausts. It is also powered by a 900cc, parallel-twin motor like the Street Scrambler however with lesser power. The unit produces 54bhp and 80Nm of torque. The T100 comes with a price tag of Rs 9 lakh.

In a similar modern-classic attire comes the Ducati Scrambler range. In this list, you have the Scrambler Full Throttle, Scrambler Classic and Scrambler Mach 2.0. All three motorcycles are based on the Scrambler Icon although with different characteristics. The Full Throttle gets a black and yellow tank with a seat in the same colour combination. It also offers twin Termignoni pipes as standard and is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh.

The Scrambler Mach 2.0 differentiates itself with its multi-coloured tank designed by Roland Sands and costs Rs 8.56 lakh. Meanwhile, the Scrambler Classic gives classic a whole new meaning. The bike sports spoke wheels, brown seat and a long rear fender. It is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh. All bikes are powered by an 803cc, L-twin motor that is good for 74bhp and 68Nm of torque.

If modern-classic are not your taste, the Italian manufacturer has the Monster 797 at Rs 8.12 lakh. The smallest in the Monster-family borrows cues from its bigger siblings the Monster 821 and Monster 1200 which are available in India. So, there the muscular fuel tank, low-slung headlamp, beefy front forks that lend it an aggressive streetfighter appeal. It also uses the 803cc, L-twin motor as the Scramblers mentioned above. This unit puts out 75bhp and 69Nm of torque.
