The Jawa Forty Two borrows majority of its styling cues from the standard Jawa and puts them together in a more modern way.
It also is evidently a motorcycle aimed at buyers looking for a younger looking bike with less of flashy, chrome components.
Apart from body parts, the Forty Two shares its 293cc engine and six-speed gearbox with the standard Jawa..
However, it gets a wider handlebar and an offset instrument cluster to name a few differences.
The Forty Two also offers a comparatively more upright riding position as compared to the standard Jawa.
To further set it apart, the Forty Two is available in a variety of colours in both, glossy and matte shades.
Powering the bike is a 293cc, single-cylinder engine which produces 27bhp and 25Nm of torque.
This unit built on the Mahindra Mojo’s platform offers decent mid-range and is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Braking is done by a 280mm front disc and a rear drum brake accompanied with a single-channel ABS system.
While the telescopic front forks are composed over almost any surface, the twin shocks at the rear aren’t at their best on broken roads.
Priced at Rs 1.55 lakhs, the Forty Two is the more affordable of the Jawas and directly competes against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in India.
