Husqvarna’s KTM 790-based ADV spotted testing

- Based on the KTM 790 Adventure.

- Gets retro styling.

- Likely to be unveiled at EICMA next year. 

KTM unveiled the 790 Adventure earlier this month at the 2018 EICMA. Now, its sister brand Husqvarna has been spotted testing its version of the same. 

This new bike, which is likely to bear ‘801’ in its name, seems to share its underpinnings from the 790 Adventure. It uses the same main frame with the same 799cc, parallel-twin engine as a stressed member that produces 95bhp and 78Nm of torque.  

The bike’s suspension setup and braking hardware have also been lifted from KTM’s warehouse. Moreover, the test mule also gets KTM branded calipers which the production version will surely skip out on. The bike also appears to ride on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels similar to the KTM, although with much more road-biased tyres. 

Apart from these essential components, the Husqvarna ADV gets an all-new sub-frame and flatter seat that offers a different riding position. It also gets a tank design similar to the 701 twins. Furthermore, it also borrows the round full-LED headlamp from the latter with a headlamp cowl that adds a retro appeal. In terms of electronics, we can expect the Husqvarna to come equipped with a full-colour TFT dash along with cornering ABS, traction control and multiple riding modes. 

The manufacturer is likely to unveil the production version of the adventure touring bike at the 2019 EICMA. While the KTM Adventure is likely to arrive in our country soon, the Husqvarna will not make its way anytime in the near future.
