Ducati Panigale V4R- What else can you buy

Just a month after it unveiled the top-of-the-line Panigale V4R at the 2018 EICMA, Ducati launched the bike in India. Priced at Rs 51.87 lakhs (ex-showroom), the V4R is expensive; however the market offers three other bikes in a similar price tag. Here’s what the list looks like-

Sitting right next to the Panigale V4R in a Ducati showroom, you’ll find the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition. Like its namesake, the Final Edition will be the last of the L-Twin powered Panigales before it is phased out in 2020. This means, two more years until it becomes a collector’s item. The bike sports a unique tricolour paint scheme similar to the company’s WSBK special- Panigale R. It is powered a 1285cc, L-twin motor that is good for 203bhp and 142Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive with a slipper clutch and titanium Akrapovic exhaust as standard. Ducati has priced the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition at Rs 51.82 lakhs.

In a similar, WSBK-inspired livery you can have another Italian supersport, the MV Agusta F4 RC. The red, white and green livery is a replica of Leon Camier’s race bike with the number ‘37’ to signify MV Agusta’s titles in the world of motorsport. The F4 RC is powered by a 998cc inline-four cylinder engine that produces 205bhp and 115Nm of torque. Furthermore, the bike is offered with a race kit that includes a titanium exhaust and ECU which pushes the power output to 212bhp. You can get your hands on one at Rs 48.94 lakhs.

And finally there’s the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited. The bike is the blue ribbon of HD’s Touring range and is developed by its Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) division. The CVO Limited comes equipped with an exhaustive list of features that includes a cruise control system, a 6.5-inch display with infotainment system, ABS, heated grips, a security system and hard case panniers as standard. It is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 114 mill which is a 1868cc V-twin. This engine produces 168Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission with final belt drive. The Harley-Davidson CVO Limited is priced at Rs 50.22 lakhs.

All prices ex-showroom, Mumbai.
