Ducati bags podium at 2018 Indian National Racing Championship

- First spot was held by Gurvinder Singh Matharu

- Deepak Ravi Kumar stood third in the superbike category

- Gurvinder rode the Panigale V4 S and Deepak competed on the standard Panigale V4

Ducati Indian has secured first and third positions at the 21st edition of JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship, held at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Noida. Grabbing the third spot was Deepak Ravi Kumar, astride the Ducati Panigale V4, while the race was won by Gurvinder Singh Matharu who rode the Panigale V4 S. Both the riders competed in the superbike category.

The race event acted as a platform for the Ducati’s new Panigale V4 superbike to exhibit its prowess. The bike is powered by a 1,103cc, four-cylinder motor that produces 211bhp at 13,000rpm and 124Nm at 10,000rpm. The V4 S, on the other hand, is more track focused as it gets fully adjustable Ohlins on both the ends. On the contrary, the standard gets Showa forks on the front and Sachs at the rear.

Apart from Gurvinder and Deepak, Ducati India also had Neharika Yadav, an ace female rider, competing in the race. Neharika rode the Ducati 959 Panigale.

The Indian National Racing Championship is organised by JK Tyre, approved by FMSCI (Federation of Motors Sports Clubs of India), every year. It was started in 1997 and has, since then, been acting as a platform for aspiring racers of India to showcase their skills
