Royal Enfield launched its first pair of 650cc motorcycles in India after a long wait. While the Interceptor 650 is a purely classic motorcycle, the Continental GT 650 is a café racer. The latter starts at Rs 2.65 lakhs and goes up to Rs 2.85 lakhs for the chrome variant. Let’s have a look at other options within that price range.
To start with, a more comfortable option would be the Hyosung Aquila GV250 cruiser bike. It is powered by a much smaller 249cc, air-cooled engine that churns out 26.21bhp of power and 21.37Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 3.02 lakhs. Those who desire a café racer, Cleveland CycleWerks too offers one - the Misfit, which is powered by a 229cc, single-cylinder engine producing 15.4bhp and 16Nm. It retails at Rs 2.49 lakhs.
Moving on, there are three streetfighters in this price range. The most powerful and feature loaded amongst them, the KTM 390 Duke, comes for Rs 2.43 lakhs. It has a 373.2cc, liquid-cooled engine capable of 42.9bhp and 37Nm. Other two naked bikes are the Kawasaki Z250 and BMW G 310 R. The former is priced at Rs 3.08 lakhs and it is propelled by a 249cc, twin-cylinder engine that produces 31.5bhp and 21Nm. The BMW G 310 R houses a 313cc, single-cylinder motor producing 33bhp and 28Nm. This comes for Rs 2.99 lakhs.
Lastly, we are left with two sporty offerings including the KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. The KTM RC 390 is powered by a 373.2cc engine that puts out 42.9bhp and 37Nm. You can have one for Rs 2.43 lakhs. The Kawasaki Ninja 300, on the other hand, retails for Rs 2.98 lakhs. Powering the bike is a 39bhp/27Nm 296cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor.
