EICMA 2018: BMW R1250 GS Adventure revealed

- Powered by a 1254cc, boxer-twin engine.

- Gets an updated electronics package and revised bodywork.

- Likely to be available in India early next year.

BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off the R1250 GS Adventure at the 2018 EICMA in Italy just a couple of months after it revealed the standard R1250 GS.

Similar to its predecessor, the BMW R1250 GS Adventure is off-road and touring capable. However, the new bike is powered by a bigger 1254cc, boxer-twin engine with the ShiftCam technology. This unit produces 136bhp and 143Nm of torque. The R1250 GSA also sports a 30-litre fuel tank capacity and a kerb weight of 249kg.  That is 10-litres more and 20kg heavier than the standard bike. 

The electronics package on the bike now includes an automatic stability control system and hill start control complete with a Bluetooth enabled 6.5-inch TFT instrument display. The headlamp is also revised and get full LED lighting. The R1250 GS Adventure gets a crash guard that starts from the tank extensions all the way to the bottom of the motor. The cosmetic changes also include a redesigned fuel tank, intake ports and a brushed aluminum radiator guard. Furthermore the bike is offered in three colour options of matte grey, black and the tricolor HP scheme of white, blue and red with gold rims. 

We can expect the R1250 GS Adventure to be launched in India sometime later next year; most likely after the R1250 GS arrives.
