Motoroyale launches Norton Commando at Rs 20.9 lakhs, Dominator at Rs 23.7 lakhs

- Norton Commando 961 Sport MK II and Dominator launched in India

- These are limited edition bikes

- Both are powered by the same 79bhp/90Nm 961cc parallel-twin engine

Motoroyale, the company which is a part of the Kinetic group, has launched the limited edition models of the Norton Commando 961 Sport MK II and the Dominator in India. The former has been priced at Rs 20.9 lakhs while the latter will retail for Rs 23.7 lakhs (both prices are ex-showroom). The bikes will be limited to 37 units — 19 units of Commando and 18 units of Dominator and, they will be delivered after 60 days of booking.

The Norton Commando and Dominator are the debut offerings from the British bikemaker in India. Both the bikes are modern-classics that boast of cafe racer styling. As these are limited edition models, they will be carrying a black finish for most of the parts along with a hand-painted British flag. Each buyer will get their name embossed on the tank along with a unique number assigned to them.

The Commando 961 Sport MK II offers a relaxed riding position with easy-to-reach single unit handlebar. The Dominator has a geometry for sportier riding stance with clip-on handlebars and high seat height.

Both the bikes are powered by the same 961cc parallel-twin air/oil cooled engine which produces 79bhp at 6500rpm and 90Nm at 5200rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bikes utilise Ohlins upside-down forks at the front. The Commando gets twin-shock absorbers at the rear while the Dominator is equipped with monoshock suspension. Braking duties are handled by Brembo four-piston monobloc calipers on the front and two-piston calipers at the back. ABS is offered as standard.

Both the limited edition Norton bikes will be available as CBU units. The motorcycles have no direct competition in India but considering the pricing, buyers can take a look at the Ducati Monster 1200 and the MV Augusta Brutale 1090 RR.
