Suzuki has launched the fuel-injected variant of the Intruder in India priced at Rs 1.06 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is Rs 6,900 more expensive that the carburetted version.
The Suzuki Intruder Fi made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo last month, although the company stopped short of announcing the price. There are no visual differences between the two Intruder variants, apart from a ‘Fi’ badging on the headlamp visor. Powering the bike is the same 155cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, albeit with a closed-loop fuel-injection system. The engine delivers 14bhp and 14Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission. It rides on telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Brake setup consists of a 266mm disc at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear with single-channel ABS offered as standard.
Like the carburetted variant, the Intruder Fi is available in two paint schemes – silver and black. With over 15,000 units sold since its launch last year, the Intruder has overshot its projections by over 25 per cent. Suzuki expects the sales to receive a shot in the arm with the launch of this new variant. The Intruder Fi competes against the Bajaj Avenger Street 180.
