Honda CB300R launched in Thailand

Honda has launched the CB300R in Thailand. The bike was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA in Italy. It draws inspiration from its elder sibling, the CB1000R and gets a neo-retro design language.

The Honda CB300R is powered by a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine housed in a tubular frame. This engine produces 31bhp at 8500rpm and 27.5Nm of torque at 7500rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

It gets a round LED headlamp unit along with an LED taillight and turn indicators. The instrument cluster is an LCD unit which includes a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and gear position indicator.

The CB300R gets 41mm inverted forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. It gets its braking power from a 296mm front disc held by a four-pot Nissin calliper while the rear gets a single-pot 220mm disc. The bike sports an IMU (Inertial Management System), a technology that has trickled down from Honda’s big bikes. The IMU guides the dual-channel ABS to give precise front to rear brake force distribution.

While the Honda CB300R will be introduced in global markets, it is unlikely to arrive in India anytime soon. Given the number of features it comes with, pricing the bike competitively to its biggest rival, the KTM 390 Duke retailing at Rs 2.38 lakhs would be a task.
