Bajaj Discover 110- What else can you buy

The Bajaj Discover 110 is priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 50,496. It's biggest rivals are the Hero Dream Neo, TVS Victor and the Hero Splendor iSmart 110. For around the same price tag you could look at an exhaustive list of commuter motorcycles and scooters. Here is the list-

If you are in the market looking for 110cc commuter motorcycles in the Rs 45,000-Rs 55,000 range, there are four other options. First is the Honda CD 110, the most affordable motorcycle from the manufacturer's Dream series line-up. It is powered by a 110cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.25bhp of power and 8.63Nm of torque and retails at Rs 47,070.

You could also opt for the Suzuki Hayate EP that is priced at Rs 52,307. It uses a slightly bigger 113cc engine that produces 8.6bhp and 9.3Nm of torque. Also on offer is the Yamaha Saluto RX which draws inspiration from its bigger 125cc sibling, the Saluto. It uses a 110cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, delivering 7.4bhp and 8.5Nm of torque. The Saluto RX is priced at Rs 47721.

The fourth option is the Star City Plus which gets a honeycomb-textured side panel grills, a crown visor, a new stainless steel muffler guard. It is powered by the 'Ecothrust' 110cc engine which produces 8.3bhp and 8.7Nm of torque. The bike is priced at Rs 45,653

The second bike from Honda's Dream series motorcycles is the Dream Yuga which also sports a conventional commuter styling. The bike is a powered by a 109cc that engine produces 8.2bhpand 8.6Nm of torque. It costs Rs 53,544.

You could also look at three other motorcycles from Hero Motocorp. There is the Splendor Pro, Splendor i3s and Passion Pro. The Splendor Pro and the Splendor i3S sport the similar styling as the standard Splendor and also get the same engine. However, the latter gets the proprietry i3S start-stop sytem for better fuel efficiency. Powering the bikes is a 97.2cc single-cylinder engine that produces  7.4bhp 7.95Nm of torque. While the Splendor Pro costs Rs 51,476, the Splendor i3S retails at Rs 51,911. The Hero Passion Pro is an upgrade to the Splendor range of commuter motorcycles. with stylish bodywork, a host of funky paint schemes and modern features. 97.2cc single-cylinder engine with a bit more of power at 8.3bhp and 8Nm of torque.

You could also look at the Bajaj Discover 125 which sports the same styling as the Discover 110 although with a bigger engine. It is powered by a 124cc engine that delivers 10.6bhp and 10.98Nm of torque. The bike is priced at Rs 53,491.

Apart from motorcycles you can also look at scooters in this range. Honda has four scooters on offer- the Activa 4G, Aviator, Activa-i and the Dio. The Activa 4G is India’s best-selling scooter and is priced at Rs 52,943. The Aviator and Dio use the same engine as the Activa 4G which is a 109cc engine that produces 8bhp and 8.83Nm of torque. While the Aviator is priced at Rs 54,279, the Dio retails at Rs 49,849. The Activa-i on the other hand is a cheaper, more stylish version of the standard Activa 4G and is targeted at women. It is powered by a 110cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8bhp and 8.74Nm of torque. The Honda Activa-i retails at Rs 50,432.

Yamaha offers the Alpha a unisex scooter based on the same platform with sharper lines, and is priced at Rs 53,223. Another scooter from Yamaha is is the Cygnus Ray ZR. It sports a sharp design and is aimed at the urban youth.The scooter retails for Rs 54,543. Both scooters use the same 113cc engine that produces 7.1bhp and 8.1Nm of torque. 

TVS offers the Wego, Jupiter and the Scooty Zest 110. The Wego gets a conservative design that appeals to both young and old buyers. It is priced at Rs 52,605. The Jupiter is positioned below the Wego and is India's second best-selling scooter priced at Rs 49,966. Both scooters are powered by the same a 109cc engine that churns out 8bhp and 8Nm of torque. The Scooty Zest 110 retains the familiar Scooty look with a similar fascia, a big headlamp and vertically stacked turn indicators. It uses a 110cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 7.9bhp and 8.7Nm of torque. It retails at Rs 49,493.

Also on offer is the Hero Maestro Edge, Duet and Pleasure. The Hero Maestro Edge gets an edgy styling and is aimed at the youth.The Duet is promoted as a family scooter positioned between the Pleasure and the Maestro Edge. Powering both the scooters is a 110cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8.31bhp and 8.30Nm of torque. While the Maestro Edge costs Rs 50,525 the Duet costs Rs 50,025. The Hero Pleasure is built aiming at the fairer sex. It is is powered by a single-cylinder 102cc engine which produces 7bhp and 8Nm of torque. The scooter retails at Rs 48,252.

Lastly, there are two scooters from Mahindra- the Gusto and the Gusto 125. The scooters look visually the same with their boxy design although the Gusto 125 gets fresh graphics and dual colours to set it apart. The Gusto is powered by a 109cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8bhp and 9Nm of torque. Meanwhile the Gusto 125 is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 8.5bhp and 10Nm of torque.
