Norton 650 Scrambler in the works

Norton has revealed the rendering of their upcoming 650cc Scrambler motorcycle. The bike will become the base for an Isle of Man TT bike along with several other 650cc motorcycles.

The scrambler-styled bike will get two versions- a road focused version and a dual-purpose version, (expected to be the rendered bike). This dual-purpose bike sports an upswept exhaust, sump guard, a high off-road style mudguard and spoke wheels shod with knobby tyres. While the off-road focused variant gets a 19-inch front wheel, the road-biased bike will get an 18-inch front wheel.

The 650cc parallel-twin engine will have three variants with different power outputs. There will be a high-spec supercharged version that produces 175bhp, another normally aspirated version with 100bhp and a low-powered 70bhp variant. This engine will be housed in a steel trellis frame with aluminium bolt-on sections for more torsional rigidity. Interestingly, the engine is said to have the same firing order as the Commando, which is expected to be launched here. 

Norton expects the 650cc scrambler to be their biggest seller with prices starting from GBP 10,000 (Rs 8.6 lakhs). With Kinetic and Norton getting into a joint venture, we can expect the bike to arrive on Indian shores in the near future.
