Kawasaki starts accepting bookings for 2018 Ninja H2 range

Kawasaki has started accepting bookings for the 2018 Ninja H2 range internationally. Like before, this litre-class superbike will be available in three variants – Ninja H2, Ninja H2 Carbon and Ninja H2R. Bookings will be open between 1 September and 30 November through the company’s official dealerships.

All the three bikes will be produced in a limited number. Built around a tubular trellis frame, the Ninja H2 range is powered by a 998cc inline four engine featuring a supercharger. The Ninja H2’s bodywork gets a mirror paint finish. The Ninja H2 Carbon gets a carbon fibre upper cowl and distinctive silver mirror paint to set it apart from the ‘budget’ Ninja H2. The H2R on the other hand, features a bare carbon fibre finish for the entire body. It can be differentiated by its cowl winglets and aerodynamic extensions and is one of the fastest production motorcycles that you can buy. For 2018, we can expect Kawasaki to offer a revised electronics package along with the revised paint schemes. 

While the other two bikes are good for 200bhp, the Ninja H2R features revised engine components to put up with the 300bhp that it can churn out. Last year, WSBK rider Kenan Sofuoglu breached the 400kmph barrier on an unrestricted Ninja H2R on the Osman Gazi bridge in Turkey. While the Ninja H2 and Ninja H2 Carbon are road-legal, the H2R can only be used on a race track. We can expect a few units of the Ninja H2, Ninja H2 Carbon and the Ninja H2R to be allocated for the Indian market.
