Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has reported a 58.6 per cent growth in domestic sales with 33,573 units sold last month as compared to 21,170 units sold in June 2016.
It has also registered a growth in total sales as the company sold 38,454 units in June this year as against the 30,188 units in the same month last fiscal. That is a 27.4 per cent leap as compared to last year. Suzuki says that their increased customer network has aided the growth of sales for the company.
The Access is Suzuki’s top contender in the scooter market and brings in the most number of sales for the company. The scooter sold 31,895 units in May 2017 compared to the 19390 units it sold in May 2016. It retails at a price tag of ₹ 56,147 (ex-showroom Mumbai). The Suzuki Gixxer priced at ₹ 79,004 (ex-showroom Mumbai) is Suzuki’s highest selling motorcycle with 5248 units sold in May 2017 over the 3662 units sold in May last year.
SMIPL has also said that the big bike segment has a consistent growth in the past months. That claim can be credited to the locally assembled Suzuki Hayabusa that sold 18 units in May this year. The 1340cc machine comes with a ₹ 15.5 lakh price tag (ex-showroom Mumbai).
