The Honda Cliq was recently launched in India. The company says that the Cliq is a rugged automatic scooter developed to maximise utility with additional value of comfort and convenience for utilitarian customers. The Cliq is based on the Navi and does get some elements from the Activa. The overall design looks more rugged with a distinctive off-road friendly feel.
This scooter weighs just 102kg, which makes it 8kg lighter than the Honda Activa and the same weight as the Honda Navi.
It features special block pattern Ceat or MRF tubeless tyres with deep grooves to provide extra grip and better control over patchy roads and in all weather conditions.
Like the Activa, the Cliq also gets a large footboard and a spacious under-seat storage with 14 litres of space.
Honda is offering many optional features like an optional rear carrier that enhances its load carrying capacity. There is also an optional mobile charging socket.
The other optional accessories include a front screen, which is a tinted visor that can be directly fitted on to the apron.
Additionally, one can have a floor cover, center-box, cap cover and rear grip among others, which can be selected individually by a customer.
However, there is nothing new with the instrument cluster, which is a simple console shared with other Honda siblings.
The Cliq also features the brand's Combi-Braking System (CBS), which helps distribute braking force more evenly by applying both brakes at the same time.
Power to the Honda Cliq comes from the 110cc single-cylinder BS-IV engine with Honda Eco Technology (HET), tuned to produce 8bhp and 9Nm of torque.
At Rs 42,499 (ex-showroom Delhi), it is the most affordable scooter in the Japanese manufacturer's line-up. It is manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
