Hero Motocorp reports drop in January sales

Hero MotoCorp has reported drop in January 2017 sales. The company sold 4,87,088 units in January as compared to 5,63,348 units in January 2016.

The drop in sales is due to lack of demand for two wheelers after the demonetisation move by the government last November. However, the Gurgaon-based manufacturer said that the January sales were much better than the December 2016. The company doesn't reveal the model-wise figures but just like every month, the Passion and Splendor range contributes the maximum sales.

Hero MotoCorp recently unveiled the new Glamour which will replace the current model in India soon. The company is hoping that the new Glamour will continue to sell more than the Honda CB Shine. It is also betting big in the motorsports area. Formation of Dakar team was one such step.
