Yamaha records 22 per cent growth in October

Yamaha seems to have made the most of the 2016 festive season, as the company announced a 22 per cent jump in sales in the last month as compared to October 2015.

This is second consecutive month in which Yamaha recorded sales of over one lakh units including export numbers. Domestic sales numbers for the Japanese manufacturer touched 86,428 units. While the FZ and R15 range continue to perform consistently, Yamaha’s growth has been spearheaded by its scooter range. Both the Fascino and the Ray ZR have received a good market response and played an important role in helping Yamaha cement the fifth spot in Indian two-wheeler industry.

With an annual projection of eight lakh units in this year, Yamaha is expecting sales to cross 10 lakh units in 2017. Going by the way things are right now, Yamaha seems well on its way to achieve this year’s target. One of the strategies employed by the company in achieving this target is rapid expansion of its network. With 600 outlets under its umbrella, Yamaha will keep adding 150 more dealerships every year.
