After the old Suzuki Access 125, the Swish 125 is now bearing the brunt of the growing popularity of the new Access 125. Suzuki sold zero units of the Swish 125 in the last month, hinting at a possibility of the 125cc scooter being temporarily discontinued in the Indian market.
While sales of the new Access 125 have been burgeoning rapidly, the Swish 125 numbers have dropped consistently over the past few months, reaching a new low in August. The good demand for the new Access 125 has led to a waiting period stretching from seven days to a month in major cities. As such, the Japanese manufacturer has now placed a higher priority for the production of the new Access 125 to reduce the waiting period and meet the surge in demand during festive season. The Swish 125 meanwhile has been put on the backburner.
Suzuki has also temporarily halted production of the old Access 125 to make room for the newer version at the production line. While select dealerships across the country still have existing stock of the Swish 125, a few dealers have stopped accepting orders for the scooter. These dealers are now pushing customers to opt for the new Access 125 which is a mere Rs 2,000 more expensive than the Swish 125.
