Price cut boosts Suzuki Hayabusa’s sales in India

Suzuki shocked the Indian market when it decided to assemble the Hayabusa in India. In fact, this development helped the company slash the price of this super sport machine by Rs 2.5 lakh -  Rs 13.57 lakh from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

This resulted in drastic sales increase for this Japanese machine. The Hayabusa used to average between three and six units a month till February 2016 for the completely-built up (CBU) units. However, after the price cut in March, the numbers went up to 18 a month in that month, followed by 13 and 17 units in April and May, respectively. Last month, Suzuki sold a total of 15 Hayabusas in the country, which is close to 150 per cent growth.

Out of all the superbikes sold in India, the Hayabusa is easily the most known bike, thanks to the Dhoom movie. So it’s not surprising to see, this motorcycle performing so well in terms of sales in the Indian market. Its closest competitor, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R is priced Rs 4 lakh more than the Hayabusa, making it less tempting, even though it’s more equipped than the Suzuki. And this calls for a comparison review between these two super sport machines. Watch out!
