- Powered by a 1,099cc, inline-four engine
- Produces 136bhp and 113Nm
- Rivals the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP
Kawasaki has launched the Z1100 supernaked in India, priced at Rs. 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is powered by a bigger engine and receives quite a few changes over the Kawasaki Z1000.

The new Kawasaki Z1100 carries forward the aggressive and muscular styling of its predecessor, and that’s no bad thing. The original Sugomi design language remains intact, giving the motorcycle its trademark ready-to-pounce stance. From the menacing twin-pod LED headlamps to the sharply sculpted tank and pointed tail section, the Z1100’s design continues to exude the predator-like appeal.

Kawasaki has packed the new Z1100 with a host of modern features. The highlight is the new five-inch TFT display that allows riders to tweak all electronic rider aids. These include a five-axis IMU, two power modes, three levels of traction control, bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control, and dual-channel ABS. The screen also offers Bluetooth connectivity with access to turn-by-turn navigation, as well as call and message alerts.

Under the skin, the Z1100 uses the same 1,099cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine as the Ninja 1100SX, producing 136bhp and 113Nm. The aluminium frame has also been borrowed from the sport tourer, while suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable Showa units. Braking hardware comes from Tokico, and the bike rides on Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres.
The Kawasaki Z1100 competes against the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, which costs Rs. 13.29 Lakh, ex-showroom.
