The 2025 Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid has gone on sale and it is the first FZ variant to get mild hybrid technology. Here are its top five highlights.
Battery-assisted acceleration
As the name suggests, the new FZ-S Fi gets a Smart Motor Generator or SMG that provides battery-assisted boost in acceleration. This should help in situations where you need to make that quick overtake or go for that gap in traffic before it closes. That said, this is most likely a mild assist so don’t expect to see a huge difference in acceleration. The hybrid system will also serve to help the FZ’s performance, considering its power and torque figures are lesser than some of the competition.
Stop-Start system
The bike also gets a Stop-Start system. It, basically, shuts off the engine while idling, say at a traffic signal. To restart the bike, all one needs to do is pull in the clutch and get going by rolling on the throttle. The system is designed to maximise fuel efficiency and will appeal more to those who believe in stretching every drop of petrol.

New TFT display
A new 4.2-inch TFT display adds a dash of modernity to the FZ-S Fi Hybrid. It features Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation that is linked to Google Maps. It offers detailed information about the route that includes intersection details, navigation and more.
Tweaked design
The Yamaha FZ-S looks muscular, largely because of the size and shape of its fuel tank and extensions. They offer visual mass to the streetfighter motorcycle. Subtle tweaks includes the new front LED turn indicators that are integrated with the faux air intakes.

Price hike
With all the new tech that the FZ-S Fi brings to the table, it costs Rs 14,000 more than the Yamaha FZS-Fi Deluxe variant.
