2025 KTM 390 Adventure X - What's new?

The KTM 390 Adventure X is the entry-level touring-focused version of the standard 390 Adventure. It gets fewer features and less off-road credibility than the standard model, while also being the most affordable in the 390 ADV range. Here's what's new on the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X compared to the older model.

Authentic ADV styling

While the older model had a love-it-or-hate-it design, the new KTM 390 Adventure X features authentic ADV styling that looks purposeful and adventure-ready. The X shares its design with the standard model, which includes a semi-fairing, a vertically stacked LED headlamp with a tall transparent visor, a beak-style fender, and a minimalist tail section. The motorcycle is available in two colours - Electronic Orange and Ceramic White.

More features

Compared to the older model, KTM has equipped the new 390 Adventure X with a plethora of features and electronic rider aids. Besides hygiene features such as full LED illumination and LED projector headlamp, KTM has also equipped it with a bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, and off-road ABS. It also gets a new five-inch H50 TFT colour cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

New engine

The 2025 390 Adventure X shares its engine with the new 390 Duke. The 399cc, LC4c, liquid-cooled engine produces 45.3bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 39Nm at 6,500rpm. This motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Updated hardware

Being a touring-focused model, the 390 Adventure X continues to ride on 19/17-inch alloy wheels. These are wrapped in Apollo Trampler tyres. It is suspended on non-adjustable 43mm WP Apex USD front forks and a 10-step preload-adjustable monoshock. However, unlike the older model that offered 170mm suspension travel, the new setup offers a wheel travel of 200mm up front and 205mm at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking hardware has been updated with axially-mounted callipers to offer more leverage across off-road riding conditions.

Most Affordable Model

Priced at Rs. 2.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X is only Rs. 8,000 more than the older model. With the kind of features and performance on offer, the Adventure X offers excellent value for money. Moreover, the pricing is on par with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450,
