As a part of the update, the motorcycle gets internal changes to its engine to comply with the latest emission norms. It is powered by a 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor that makes 10.72bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm.

Besides the OBD-2B update, the Hero Super Splendor XTEC remains unchanged. It continues to be offered in four colours: Matt Nexus Blue, Matt Grey, Black, and Candy Blazing Red. The Splendor is a household name in India and the country's best-selling two-wheeler. It is known for its reliability, low running costs, and rugged yet purposeful design. The Super Splendor XTEC increases its desirability by offering features such as LED lighting, digital cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.

Its hardware package is fairly basic, comprising telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of a front disc and rear drum brake on the top-spec model, while the base variant gets drum brakes at both ends.
