2022 KTM RC 200: Review Image Gallery

KTM’s fully-faired motorcycle, the RC 200, recently received its biggest ever update in India. The motorcycle has been altered on almost all fronts and we got to ride it around Bajaj’s Chakan test track to give you our first impressions about it. You can read it here. But before you click on the story link, check out the most stunning images of the 2022 KTM RC 200 from our first ride review.

KTM has adorned the new RC 200 with a new set of clothes that retain the previous model’s aggression but in a more mature and beefier-looking package.

The new styling takes major inspiration from the brand’s MotoGP machine. It has been designed for better aerodynamics than before, thereby achieving a higher top speed.

Fuel Tank

The Austrian bike maker has improved the bike in terms of form as well as function. The front windscreen gets a more bubbled shape for better wind deflection while the new fuel tank is also substantially larger at 13.5-litre.

Thanks to the inclusion of a new split-type trellis frame, KTM could accommodate larger and more spacious seats for the rider as well as pillion. What’s more, the clip-on handlebar has also been raised by 15mm for easier reach.

The 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine of the RC 200 remains unchanged. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, it churns out 25.4bhp of power and 19.5Nm of peak torque.

What’s changed though is the size of the airbox which is 40 per cent larger now, resulting in the engine breathing more freely. And this is quite noticeable while riding with a significant improvement in the low-end performance.

The bike is suspended by a WP Apex upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. While the damping of this setup is apt for sharp handling dynamics on the track, we are yet to test the ride quality on undulated roads.

The new 2022 KTM RC 200 is available in two swanky colour options including Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic. Surprisingly, it has been priced the same as the previous-generation model at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
