2022 Kawasaki Z900 RS Café: Details Explained

Kawasaki has launched the 2022 iteration of the Z900 RS Café in the US. The cafe racer motorcycle has only received cosmetic changes. Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged. The company is offering a standard warranty of 12-months on the bike which can be further extended by opting for the protection plus plan. To know more about the new Z900 RS Café, let's take a look at the details of the same.

Engine From Right

Engine

The 2022 model of the Z900 RS Café is powered by a 948cc four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 111bhp and 98Nm. All this power and torque is put down via a six-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, the BS4 model which was on sale in India was powered by a mill having similar displacement, although it produced 2.6bhp lesser power and 0.5Nm more twist compared to this engine.

Right Front Three Quarter

Design

The Z900 RS Café is a cafe racer motorcycle which gets a bubble type fairing at the front. It comes with silver stripes and Kawasaki Z900 graphics on its sides, a metal exhaust, a single tan-coloured rider seat, a circular headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a sleek tail section and circular rearview mirrors. The cafe racer bike gets a slightly sportier riding position, thanks to its single-piece handlebar and slightly rear set foot pegs. The motorcycle is only available in the Metallic Diablo Black colour option that has replaced the Pearl Storm Grey colour which was on offer with the outgoing model.

Features

It is offered with features like a slipper clutch, Kawasaki traction control system, ABS and an Ergo-fit system which helps riders to find the best riding position for themselves by adjusting various components like the handlebar, footpegs, seat, etc through a combination of interchangeable parts. It further comes with an economical riding indicator that helps the rider to extract the best efficiency from the cafe racer motorcycle.

Rear Suspension

Hardware

The suspension duty is handled by inverted telescopic forks at the front and a horizontal back-link swingarm suspension at the rear. The braking here is taken care of by a dual 300mm disc at the front and a single 250mm disc at the rear assisted by dual-channel ABS. The cafe racer motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels. Those wheels are wrapped with tyres having 120mm width at the front and 180mm width at the rear.

The 2022 Z900 RS Café is priced at USD 12,099 (Rs 8.98 lakh). In the Indian market, Kawasaki used to retail the BS4 model of the Z900 RS Café at a price tag of Rs 15.70 lakh. However, the company doesn't seem to have any plans of introducing the BS6 model in the country anytime soon.
